Your account

Get started gives you a guest account, with nothing to fill in. If you add an email address or a phone number, Retao keeps it so you can sign in again.

To sign in, Retao sends you a one-time code: by email through Amazon SES, or by text message through Telnyx. Each receives the address or number the code goes to.

The app keeps you signed in with a cookie, until you sign out.

Your name

Retao asks what to call you and keeps that name. The people in your challenges see it on the board.

People you name

When you name a juror by email address or phone number, Retao keeps it in your contacts, with the name you give it, so you can pick it next time. Only you see your contacts, and Retao never reads the ones on your device.

Until that person joins Retao, the board shows their address or number to the people in the challenge.

Your challenges

Retao keeps each challenge: what it is about, its outcomes, what you play for, who picked which outcome, the jury and its votes. It also keeps a dated record of every change.

Only the people in a challenge see it, and whoever you send its link to.

Payments

You pay for a pack or Unlimited on a page run by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to Retao. Retao keeps what you bought and how many challenges you have left.

Review

While you prepare a challenge, you can ask for a review of it. Only then is what the challenge says (its description, outcomes and what you play for) sent to TypeSafe and Anthropic, together with any message you write in the review. They check it, suggest changes and answer you.

Nothing is sent unless you ask for a review. Retao keeps the review's messages with the challenge.

Erasing your account

You can erase your account from the app at any time. Retao then deletes your sign-in details, your name, your contacts, your reviews, what you bought and the record of what you did, and signs you out everywhere.

Challenges you were in stay for the other people, with your place marked as erased and your address or number removed.
